What we Offer
For standard clothing you're welcome to schedule an appointment. We have a 25-piece clothing limit and will go through the items at the time your appointment is scheduled. For 0-12m clothing, we'll consider accepting items out of season. 12m or larger sizes need to be in-season. Items must be clean and in excellent condition. If you have items other than clothing that you're interested in consigning, please let us know; we'd love to talk about it. For larger items we like to see photos. You may share your photos by way of Facebook, Instagram, e-mail or you're welcome to text our store phone. We know it is sometimes difficult to part with your children's belongings and we want you to be comfortable with your experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Consignment items need to be left with us for a minimum of three months. After the second month, we will reduce the price 25% to help it sell. If you do not pick it up after the third month, the item will be removed from the sales floor and donated to a local charity. For clothing, you will be given a check for half the final selling price. For gear, accessories or other items, you will be given 40% of the final selling price. If your item does not sell after the 3rd month, you are welcome to pick-up your item, however, beyond the 3rd month, items may be donated at our discretion and without notice. We only donate to local charities. You will be automatically sent an e-mail notifying you when one of your consigned items has been sold. Please call prior to coming in to collect your consignment cash to ensure an authorizing individual is available to write you a check that day. It's your responsibility to pick up consignment cash. Consignment cash expires at the end of each year.
You will be given 50% of the retail value for any item to be applied to your store credit. Please note for standard clothing this defaults to $1.00 for 0-12m sizes and $1.50 for all other sizes, as those items can potentially be sold on a $3 Thursday. For higher-end and boutique clothing, please refer to the Consignment portion of this page. Store credit can be applied 100% for all resale and consignment items. Store credit does not expire and may not be used toward new or locally-made items.
We price larger items based on the following factors:
- Current selling price for the exact same item at this time. This price may not be the same as what you paid for it.
- The condition your item is in when you bring it in. For top dollar, it needs to be as clean as possible and have all of its original parts.
- Our experience with selling similar items. Certain items have a higher resale value and will sell for closer to their original selling price.
We price smaller items based on the following factors:
- The condition it is in. The same outfit will sell for different prices in our shop depending on its condition.
- The brand. Gap items will sell for more than Carters items, although there is not as great a difference as there was when the items were new.
- Our experience with selling similar items. Prices may vary depending on the style and size of the items you bring in.
Clothes and small items are sorted as they are looked at. In-season clothes and larger items often sell the day we go through them. Off-season items are stored immediately. For these reasons, we are not able to accurately return accepted items to you after they have been looked at. We want you to feel you are getting a fair value for your items, however, so if you have any concerns, please let us know when you drop your items off. If we cannot meet those needs we will be able to easily give your things back to you.
Please Pre-Screen Your Items
For clothing, we have a 25-piece limit per drop-off. Make sure they smell fresh and are free from pet hair. Check for stains, holes, missing buttons, fading, pilling or worn areas as these items will not be accepted. Please bring your items flat, not folded, to minimize wrinkles. To increase the likelihood of your outfits being accepted, lay them together. Please note that we cannot pay you until we test battery-operated items, so for faster service, bring them with batteries. Items with multiple parts need to be brought in clean and sellable packaging.
We cannot take in items with the following things:
- Broken pieces
- Missing safety straps
- Torn fabric
- Smoke or other strong scents
- Cribs with a railing that goes up and down (drop-side)
- VHS, old video consoles or other older technology
We do not take in the following, unless they are like-new and/or in factory-sealed packaging:
- Car seats
- Electric breast pumps
- Bottles (unless it's stainless)
The following items are only taken in if they are in almost-new condition:
- Crib bedding
- Nursing pillows
- Nursing bras
- Potty seats
We do not offer store credit for disposable diapers, infant formula or food, but we can donate it.
You will have 7 days to pick up your remaining items. If you choose not to pick up your items within this time-frame, your items will be donated without notice.
